John Fashanu joins Hearts and Minds as an ambassador

Hearts and Minds is delighted to announce that John Fashanu has joined the charity as an ambassador.

John Fashanu's footballing career spanned 16 years, and he played for a number of high profile clubs, most notably Wimbledon and Aston Villa.  During his time at Wimbledon, Fashanu scored 126 goals. His best season was 1990–91, when he was the First Division's second highest scorer with 20 goals.

In 1995 he retired due to injuries and then became a television presenter, and he will be particularly remembered for fronting the UK edition of Gladiators alongside Ulrika Jonsson in the mid-1990s.   He now hosts Deal or No Deal Nigeria, airing on M-Net Africa.

As an ambassador for Hearts and Minds, he will help to promote the charity and its activities, and will attend many of the fund-raising events including the Viva Las Vegas Ball in November and a surprise event, still to be announced!
